Committee to Consider Health Insurance Bills, Hold Hearing on Long-Term Care
Partnership Program
The Senate Banking and Insurance Committee will meet Tuesday,
May 5, to consider two health care-related bills and hold a public hearing
on the Long-Term Care (LTC) Partnership Program, according to Committee Chairman
Senator Don White (R-41).
During the meeting set for 10 a.m. in Room 461 of the Main
Capitol, the Committee will consider the following:
House Bill 84 (DeLuca) – Establishes a system for
nonpayment for preventable serious adverse events.
House Bill 1089 (Matzie) – Extends the COBRA guidelines
to group plans provided by employers that employ 2-19 employees.
The Committee will also hold a public hearing to receive an
update on the LTC Partnership Program. Act 40 of 2007 created the program which
provides a financial incentive for individuals to buy LTC insurance.
